The DEFCON levels are a five-level warning system that is used to indicate the current level by our U.S. Because of this the DEFCON system was born. Since the early 50’s the United States and the Soviet Union have been in a race to build the most powerful nuclear weapons on the planet. Today, the DEFCON system remains a critical component of the United States military’s ability to quickly and effectively respond to potential threats. Since then, the DEFCON system has been used numerous times to signal changes in military readiness in response to emerging threats. The system was first used during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, when the United States military was placed on high alert in response to the Soviet Union’s deployment of nuclear missiles in Cuba. The DEFCON system was first developed in the 1950s as a means of quickly and effectively communicating the state of military readiness to all stakeholders. In this article, we will provide a comprehensive overview of the DEFCON levels and what they mean, along with the history behind the system. This is where I got my first education of the DEFCON level system and its significance to our nations security. The computer believes the simulation to be real and the threat of nuclear war accelerates throughout the movie.
